This research aims to assess the level of knowledge of university students about Olympics and how gender, the orientation of their degrees to physical activity and the level of physical and sport activity modulate this level of knowledge. In order to that, Molina’s (2011)
questionnaire was administrated to 1982 students in Sport Sciences Degree, Physical Education Teacher Degree and Primary Education Degree from two universities in Murcia. In general, the level of knowledge is high, except when identifying the author of the sentence “Most important thing is not to win but to take part”. On other hand, a higher level of knowledge has been found among men in comparison with women, among those students whose degrees are orientated to physical education and/or sport, as well as among participants that competed in a national or international level in comparison with those who competed in a regional or local level or even they do not compete.
