The first Athletics in Spain: Huelva, 1890

The present contribution aims to let it be known some surprising “Athletic Competitions” which were being held in Huelva since the end of the 19th century until 1935, having similar characteristics to those which six years later would take place in Athens in the first Olympic Games of the modern era.
