Sport in school ages prior to spanish francoism (I). methodological considerations
Keywords:
schoolsport, children sport, introduction to sport, schoolsport contests, contests categories, age grouping.Abstract
This paper is trying to show the main methodological difficulties we have met when researching hemerographical sources on sporting contests by children prior to Spanish Francoism (before 1939), and that we can resume in a polysemy for the concept of school sport, a dispersion for contest categories, and an assorted casuistry for agegrouping; we also found a great invisibility of girls attendance when compared with that of boys. The critical perspective of hemerographic research on schoolsports addressed in this paper will facilitate the analysis of further research.
