Abstract
This article reflects on the concrete silo built by Alvar Aalto in the Toppila factory. In this unique work by Aalto, the exposed concrete is the defining element of the architectural work: it combines both the most efficient structural capacity and the expressive capacity, allowing it to give form to the work.
