Abstract
The Art studies teaching program is both theoretical and practical. This is the reason why the project for the new School of Arts in Valladolid is configured through two courtyards or “cloisters” in concrete, through a complementary use of this material, which expresses the duality in the artistic education which takes place within. In one of the bodies the use of concrete is optimized and technified, in the other, the project presents the expressive potential of the construction material. In both cases the structure gives order and structures the space. The article presents the duality in the use of exposed reinforced concrete, through the design and construction experience of this project by architects Primitivo, Noa and Ara González. Construction was completed in 2022.
