Abstract

The article explores Aurelio Galfetti's territorial and transformative vision in the restoration project of Castelgrande. Through a telescopic narrative that moves from the urban to the geological, Galfetti redefines the relationship between monument, city, and territory, creating a dialectical landscape between nature and architecture. The contemporary access, conceived as an interior journey through the rock, unveils a new dialectic between concrete and the mineral landscape. This intervention transcends mere functionality, constructing a landscape defined by the geological singularity of the hill and the contemporary materiality of its architecture.
