A PERGOLA OVER A GARDEN
Keywords:
heritage, garden, concrete, domesticity, topographyAbstract
The project addresses the recovery of a terraced garden in the historic center of Jaén, an example of Hispano-Muslim heritage integrated into the urban landscape. Through a sensitive site analysis, the proposal preserves archaeological remains, topography, circulation routes, and the intimate character of the interior space. The garden, structured in terraces and linked to domestic architecture, incorporates traditional elements such as water management, fruit-bearing vegetation, and visual seclusion. The intervention is completed with a stepped pergola that guides movement, integrating an auditorium and a multipurpose space within a culturally valuable environment.
