Tribute to José Fariña

Abstract

This special issue is presented as a tribute to Professor José Fariña and his valuable contributions to the strengthening of research from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning of the ETSAM, at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. The doctoral theses he directed, his personal blog and this journal -of which he was one of the main promoters represent three of his most significant contributions to internationalization, dissemination and popularization of knowledge in the field of urban planning. This issue brings together a chronology of the doctoral theses he directed, accompanied by their respective abstracts, as well as a selection of entries from his blog. Its content reflects the scope and depth of his thought organized in three concepts: urbanism, territory and landscape.
