Peer review process

ABE (Advances in Building Education / Innovación Educativa en Edificación) operates a double-blind review process. All contributions will be initially assessed by the editor for suitability for the journal. Papers deemed suitable are then sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper. When referees offer disparate opinions or recommendations, the paper will be sent to a third referee.  In case of accepting the paper for publication, the authors must consider the comments made by the evaluators and resubmit the paper with the appropriate changes. The Editor is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles. The Editor's decision is final. The editors affirm that they have no conflict of interest with respect to the rejected/accepted papers, and that they will  only  accept a  paper  when  they are reasonably certain of its authenticity.  If errors are found, the editors will encourage authors to modify or correct their contribution to be published, preserving, at any rate, the anonymity of the referees.

Reviewers should be experts in the field of the reviewed paper. They also should be objective in their comments and suggestions, have no conflict of interest and treat all manuscripts confidentially

All Authors are expected to help in the peer review process by reviewing at least 3 papers. We reserve the right to decline to consider papers from potential Authors who are too busy or unwilling to take part in the peer review process.
