La paradoja de Odhams Walk

Mediterranean Traces in London analiza Odhams Walk, un proyecto de vivienda social proyectado por el Greater London Council (GLC) entre 1974 y 1981. Inspirado en proyectos de distintas regiones climaticas, Odhams Walk adapta estrategias urbanas mediterráneas a un entorno londinense de baja altura y alta densidad. A medida que el cambio climático transforma las condiciones urbanas, edificios como Odhams Walk, que originalmente no se adaptaban a su contexto, pueden convertirse en nuevos referentes arquitectónicos. Este estudio examina la tensión entre precedentes arquitectónicos foráneos, su impacto en el espacio público y la creación de microclimas que mejoran el confort térmico. Sin embargo, estos beneficios pueden ir en detrimento del acceso a espacios verdes a un público más amplio. Odhams Walk se presenta como un caso relevante para repensar cómo pensamos y habitamos nuestras ciudades en un mundo cada vez más cálido.
