Resumen

OpenCourseWare (OCW) es un ejemplo de las actuaciones que en los últimos tiempos han surgido con objeto de promover el acceso libre y sin restricciones al conocimiento. En abril del 2001, el Massachussets Institute of Technology (MIT) lanzó la iniciativa OCWMIT (http://ocw.mit.edu/index.html) a través de la cual se ofrece en abierto el material docente que sus profesores utilizan en las enseñanzas junto con una guía de estudio. Esta iniciativa ha tenido un gran impacto y ha impulsado a otras universidades de prestigio internacional a adherirse, generando proyectos propios en coordinación con OCW-MIT El objetivo de OCW es difundir, a través de medios digitales y en abierto, los recursos docentes; estructurados en asignaturas y orientados a la educación superior. Universia se ha comprometido desde el principio con este proyecto y promueve, aprovechando su carácter de Red de Universidades, la creación de OCW Universia (http://mit.ocw.universia.net/), cuya finalidad es facilitar una presencia relevante de las Universidades Iberoamericanas, y de las culturas que representan, en el Proyecto OCW mundial.

Abstract

OpenCourseWare (OCW) is an example of the actions that have recently emerged to promote the free and unrestricted access to knowledge.In April 2001, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) launched the OCWMIT (http://ocw.mit.edu/index.html), an initiative that offers free access to the materials of work of its teachers. OCWMIT has had a major impact and has encouraged other international leading universities to create their own projects in coordination with OCW-MIT OCW’s aim is to disseminate, through freee acces digital media, educational resources structured in subjects and oriented towards higher education. From the beginning UNIVERSIA is commited with this project and promotes, taking advantage of its character of Network of Universities, the creation of the Universia OCW (http://mit.ocw.universia.net/), whose purpose is to facilitate a significant presence of iberoamerican universities, and the cultures they represent in the global OCW Project.
