Peer Review Process

Anales de Edificación operates a double-blind review process. All contributions will be initially assessed by the editor for suitability for the journal. Papers deemed suitable are then sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper. When referees offer disparate opinions or recommendations, the paper will be sent to a third referee.  In case of accepting the paper for publication, the authors must consider the comments made by the evaluators and resubmit the paper with the appropriate changes. The Editor is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles. The Editor's decision is final. The editors affirm that they have no conflict of interest with respect to the rejected/accepted articles,  and that they will  only  accept a  paper  when  they are reasonably certain of its authenticity.  If errors are found, the editors will encourage authors to modify or correct their contribution to be published, preserving, at any rate, the anonymity of the referees.

Reviewers should be experts in the field of the reviewed paper. They also should be objective in their comments and suggestions, have no conflict of interest and treat all manuscripts confidentially

All Authors are expected to help in the peer review process by reviewing at least 3 papers. We reserve the right to decline to consider papers from potential Authors who are too busy or unwilling to take part in the peer review process.

Open Access Policy

Anales de Edificación does not charge authors for processing or publishing an article and provides immediate Open Access to its content. All content is available free of charge to the user or his institution. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full text of articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without prior permission from the publisher or author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

  1. Authors retain the copyright and grant to the journal the right to a Creative Commons Attribution / Non-Commercial / Non-Derivative 4.0 International (CC BY NC ND) License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of authorship and non-commercial use.
  2. Authors may separately establish additional agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the version of the work published in the journal (for example, placing it in an institutional repository or publishing it in a book).

Unless otherwise indicated, all contents of the electronic edition are distributed under a Creative Commons license.

Publication Frequency

Anales de Edificación is published online in one yearly volume, divided into three issues every four months (April, August and December).

Anti-plagiarism Policy (Publication Ethics)

Anales de Edificación regards plagiarism as a very serious offence. Plagiarism in all forms, self-plagiarism, multiple or redundant publication, and data fabrication or manipulation constitute serious ethical failings and are considered scientific fraud. The journal uses the Turnitin software to manage potential academic misconduct and identify unoriginal content or instances of overlapping and similar text in submitted or published manuscripts.

All authors must ensure that the data and results reported in the manuscript are original and have not been copied, fabricated, falsified or manipulated.  Authors must not submit to Anales de Edificación any manuscript that is simultaneously under consideration by another publisher and must not submit their manuscript to another publisher until they are notified that it has been rejected or have voluntarily withdrawn it from consideration.

Anales de Edifición’s editors will take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct occurs.  In the event that the journal’s editors are made aware of any allegation of research misconduct they will deal with allegations appropriately by publishing corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.
